Today’s release addresses several bugs that affected battlefield clarity, unit behavior, and achievement progress in Call of War. The main focus of this update is on two long-standing issues: nuclear blast animations playing when no detonation occurred, and stealth units being able to escape melee combat through fire control changes.
Nuclear blasts now only appear when they should
A long-running visual issue with nuclear attacks has been corrected. Previously, the nuclear blast animation could still play even if the bomber carrying the nuclear payload was shot down before reaching its target.
This created confusing situations where players saw a nuclear explosion even though no actual nuclear strike had happened. With this release, the animation now matches the combat result. No more Fata Morgana nuclear blasts on the battlefield.
Stealth units can no longer disengage through fire control
We also fixed a critical bug that allowed stealth units to disengage from melee combat by switching their fire control mode.
This exploit could be used to avoid combat in ways that were not intended. A first version of this fix was already included in a previous release, but we have now tightened the rules further to make sure the behavior works as intended.
Additional fixes and improvements
This release also includes several smaller fixes and interface improvements:
- Updated menu buttons on the mobile client so they better match other user interface elements.
- Fixed a bug that caused planes to vanish when ordered to patrol outside their flight range.
- Ranged units now apply damage consistently, even at the edge of their displayed range.
- Fixed bugs related to achievement progress granted by maps.
