Another year has passed and another campaign cycle turns. With Call of War’s 11th anniversary on the horizon, we’re opening the planning table to the people who fight the wars: you.

Across two community votes running for 7 days each, you’ll decide how the birthday scenario looks and feels. You decide the theatre of war and its pace. You shape the opening forces and finally choose a wildcard twist worthy of the occasion.

How does it work?

The birthday scenario will be decided in two stages:

  • Vote 1 - Theatre of War
    • Decide the map + the speed factor
    • Runs from 10th March to 17th March - LIVE NOW
  • Vote 2 - Weapons of War:
    • Additional starting unit setups + a wildcard modifier
    • Runs from 17th March to 24th March

When the votes conclude, we’ll assemble the winning options into the final anniversary scenario. The scenario will go live together with our birthday celebrations later in April.

Choose the theatre of war

Every campaign begins with the same question: where do we fight, and how quickly do we move? The first vote decides the setting and the pace that will define the anniversary scenario from the opening moves to the final offensives.

You’ll vote on:

  • Map: choose your favourite map from a selection of classics
  • Speed factor: choose between classic 1x/8x or the new school 16x/24x

A slower pace can reward planning, scouting, and logistics. A faster pace can turn every decision into a race - and every mistake into a lesson.

Decide the weapons of war

The second vote is where the anniversary scenario gains its character. You’ll help decide what each commander receives at the start, and what extra element gets added to shake up the campaign.

You’ll vote on:

  • Additional starting unit setups - you decide what units your campaign begins with
  • Wildcard option - a special twist designed to warp the battlefield in unexpected ways

Consider this your teaser: the wildcard is the kind of celebratory chaos that makes an anniversary memorable. It’s Call of War’s birthday, after all - we’re going a bit wild.

Vote with doctrine in mind

Veteran commanders know that doctrine isn’t just a label. It’s a way of waging war. Map layout and starting units can all tilt the early game to a path that ultimately decides the map.

That’s why this vote isn’t just cosmetic. Choose carefully based on your favourite doctrines and how you like to win. There’s something for every playstyle: whether you prefer a steady build-up or a swift opening offensive.
